BIO
It’s always a daunting prospect to uproot yourself, move to an entirely new city and start all over again.
Even more so when it’s four people re-locating at the same time.
But this is exactly what the guys from formerly Byron Bay, now Melbourne based alternative rock four piece Engine Three Seven did in 2008.
The move has proven itself to be a massive success, seeing them attain a place on the roster of Melbourne’s biggest alternative rock booking agency, Saltar Hype; playing premier Melbourne venues and touring interstate with such luminaries as Mammal, MM9, 28 Days, Sydonia, Sleep Parade, and many more.
The band have just released their second EP Atmosphere (mixed by one Australia’s most celebrated producers, Forester Savell), released mid 2010 at a sold out Gershwin Room at Melbourne’s famed Esplanade Hotel.
The new EP Atmosphere sees the band’s style mature. The new songs are heavier, more progressive but as always, lyrically engaging.
Combining electrifying progressive and alternative rock with more acoustic-driven rootsy elements, this band fit perfectly into Australia’s compellingly vibrant alternative-rock scene, whilst blending these two seemingly disparate styles, they stand out like a beacon in the crowd.
Their live performance is as tight and punchy as a fist, they are also fun and engaging. Changing up from a full frontal rock assault to quiet, beautiful, wistful moments in a heartbeat.
Engine Three Seven are one of Australia’s pre-eminent live alternative rock acts.
